Criteria for Certification
The criteria to qualify as a Certified Career Development Practitioner has been in development for the last 5 years and has gone through extensive consultations with the career development community. Eligibility for the credential is based on a combination of education, work experience and evidence of competency. Application for this credential is voluntary.

Changes to CCDP Certification
The Grandfathering Option, which allows career development practitioners who have been working in the sector for at least 5 years to apply by means of Grandfathering will end on February 28, 2012.
As of March 1, 2011, CCDP Certification will only be valid for 3 years to set us on par with Alberta and the cost will increase slightly to $250 + HST. To maintain registered status, CCDP Certifications issued prior to February 28, 2011 will be required to renew after 5 years.
Certifications issued March 1, 2011 or thereafter will be required to renew after 3 years. Please visit the website at www.bccda.org for updated forms, revised documents, frequently asked questions and certification and re-certification policies.
